A Weekend in Tallahassee

September has certainly been a month for the books. Weddings, birthdays, drinking, oh my!

After part one of Mason’s 21st birthday celebration, we packed up the car for Sean and Chris’ wedding in Tallahassee!

Our exciting weekend away started with the rehearsal dinner, being reunited with old friends, and lots of vodka and cranberries

My boyfriend is a classy southern woman

After the wedding, which was sappy enough to make me choke up, came an open bar and lots of dancing.

This is still my favorite picture from that weekend, easy.

After the lights came up and the bar closed down, we turned in our valet ticket and heading off to the closest bar for a fun after party with the relatives!

Mason’s 21st Birthday Extravaganza

Wow, this past week has been crazy! Overnights, drunken weekends, weddings, oh my!

I guess I should start at the beginning;

Mason turned 21 and preceded to not get carded anywhere, while I am about to be 22 and still getting carded, which seems pretty dang unfair.

Before getting into the thick of overnights and opposite schedules for the next week, Mason and I decided that partly celebrating his birthday before going drinking around the world at Epcot (stay tuned for lots of pictures!) so we settled on New Orleans food and mixed drinks.

I had originally decided to not make Mason a cake, but I eventually caved and made a boxed red velvet. Not too great, but I mean, it is a boxed cake.

Denny Appreciation Post

Since moving to Orlando, not a lot has been constant. Mason’s work schedule, my work schedule, lame personal stuff, driving over screws, the usual. But the one constant in my life, besides my amazing boyfriend Mason, has been the cutest little cuddle bug ever, Denny.

Mason rescued Denny when he was only weeks old, when his mom and family abandoned him outside in a tropical storm. Mason took him in, fed him with a syringe, got him all his shots, and has been letting Denny nibble on his fingers ever since.

I love this cat so dang much! I can’t wait for him to grow out of his asshole teenage phase and get really fat and cuddle all the time.

Easiest Bacon Grilled Cheese

When I was in high school, I didn’t really take a lot of classes. Besides working, I spent an astronomical amount of time at home. But since I was home for lunch everyday, I really got into making grilled cheese sandwiches. I would sit back with my grilled cheese, some sour cream and onion chips, and TLC. Good thing I was still going to dance three times a week or I would have gained a lot of weight that year!

Thank god Mason will eat basically anything, because I could make him practically anything and he would say it’s ‘dank as fuck’.

I personally like to use applewood smoked bacon, it’s got a nice mixture of fat on it.

But make it your own! When I make grilled cheese for Mason I like to roast jalapenos, stick them up, and stick them in between bacon slices.

How do you like your grilled cheese?

Meeting Rapunzel & Cinderella

I’m not scared to admit that I love Disney. Do I act like a small child when Celebrate The Magic starts? Yes. Do I cry at the Tangled part? Absolutely. Do I eat too much ice cream and always feel nauseous after riding Thunder Mountain? You betcha.

But for me, the best part is the characters. I mean, I know that once they’re not onstage anymore, they’re just some college program kid or full time UCF grad just working to pay the bills, but when they’re portraying my favorite characters, it’s magical.

So in typical Hannah fashion, when invited to Magic Hours with some of our friends the night before going to work, of course I’m going to go. And I ate ice cream, choked up at Celebrate The Magic, rode Thunder Mountain and felt nauseous after. But the best part came when Marisa turned to me and said that the wait for meeting Rapunzel and Cinderella was only 20 minutes. 20 minutes! That’s a shorter wait than getting a kitchen sink ice cream on Main Street.

You know, just talking about frying pans and ruffians

Squad up w/ Rapunzel

Cindy was pretty mad that I didn’t bring her any ice cream

Gonna go hang with some princes later

Yes, we left at 1am and I fell asleep in the car on the way home, but it’s always worth it when going to Magic Kingdom. As long as you don’t go in the middle of the day. You will literally melt.

Orlando Staple-Lazy Moon

Please excuse how rough I look, hungover is not a good look on me

It’s no secret, my love for pizza. Mason was well aware of this when I moved down to Orlando, and decided to take me to the nirvana that is Lazy Moon.┬áIt’s an awesome pizza joint in the UCF/Full Sail side of town that serves slices the size of your head, and awesome margaritas.

If you’re ever in Orlando, I cannot stress eating here enough! But make sure you invite me too!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I am 99% sure that I am not the only one that buys bananas with every intention to eat them then next thing you know, it’s a week later and you’ve got some ugly brown bananas on top of your microwave.

Thank god for Pinterest though!

Can’t take a picture in this house without getting a cat in the background!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

3-4 brown bananas

1 egg

1 cup sugar

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

as many chocolate chips you want!

It’s pretty simple, toss everything in a stand mixer or mix by hand, it’s not too easy to mess this recipe up.

Bake for an hour and fifteen minutes at 350 degrees
